Efficient Production from Bar Length:

Profitable, Practical, Cost-Effective

When jointing mitres in all the various profiles of the Schweikart Venster and Vassadensystem the most efficient method of manufacture and assembly is with the Hoffmann Keys and dowels. This ensures the most practical production possible from bar length. The typically high investment in machines, tooling and workforce are no longer required. This simply saves all the usual set-up and maintenance expenditure and the ongoing costs of running machines and the required extraction. As an example, the time saved in making a complete window consisting of a frame and sash by this method as opposed to by conventional methods is in the region of 30%. When compared to a total wood window (and by traditional fabrication methods) the time saving can be up to 50 % – time is money. These factors make an interesting price calculation for the manufacturer and builder. The machinery required for this window system are: Double Mitre Saw, Combination dowel drill and routing machine and when applicable a crimping machine for the Wood/Alu system. Due to the strength of the joint when pulled together with Hoffmann Keys, the usual gluing press can also be eliminated. When working with pre-laquered bar lengths, the spray shop and drying rooms are also eliminated and all the associated time, as well as many expensive tool sets.
